Trams to Edinburgh Airport suspended after reports of crash in area

Tram services to and from Edinburgh Airport have been suspended this morning following reports of a crash.

Earlier this morning, Edinburgh Trams told passengers that all services had been suspended, with tickets being accepted on Lothian Buses instead.

Edinburgh Trams said in its travel update: “Due to [a] road traffic incident at the airport, all tram services are currently suspended.

“Customers are advised to use alternative travel options. Tram tickets are being accepted on Lothian Buses. We apologise for the disruption and thank you for your patience.”

It has now been confirmed that trams have restarted but will instead run between Newhaven and Gyle Centre.

Lothian Buses are continuing to accept tickets for onward travel to Edinburgh Airport from Gyle Centre.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
