New Scots opinion poll puts Tories ahead of Labour

A NEW opinion poll for Scotland shows the Conservatives in second place ahead of Labour for the first time.
The poll, part of a wider UK study carried out by ICM, has the SNP on 48 per cent, the Tories on 22 per cent and Labour in third with 16 per cent - albeit based on a weighted sub-sample of 66.
The Greens sit fourth with eight per cent, ahead of the Lib Dems (four per cent) and Ukip (one per cent).
The study’s overall sample size was 1,004.
It was the first post-2015 national voting intention poll carried out by the pollster.
Overall, results almost exactly mirrored the actual result of the general election, with the Conservatives enjoying a six-point lead over Labour.
Elsewhere, Ukip re-established their 13 per cent share while the Liberal Democrats remained at the bottom of the pile.
