FORMER Scottish Secretary Michael Moore and the former Scottish Lib Dem leader Tavish Scott were today named as their party’s lead negotiators for talks on delivering more powers for Holyrood.

Mr Moore, who was Scottish Secretary from 2010 to 2013, will take part in Lord Smith of Kelvin’s cross-party talks on a package of enhanced devolution for Holyrood.

The former cabinet minister and Mr Scott, who led the Scottish Lib Dems at the last Holyrood election, will make the case for their party’s plans for a “federal Scotland”.

Scottish Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie, who appeared alongside Mr Moore and Mr Scott in Edinburgh today, said the party was “the most prepared” for the talks on new powers.

The other main Unionist parties have yet to name their negotiating teams.
