Slice of life

Thank you so much for reprinting Ian Wood’s final “Slice of Life” column (Sport, 29 December). As a fellow Musselburgh boy and keen golfer, I loved his columns and it was great to see Ian’s wonderful story of the Portobello lad who sliced his ball from the Musselburgh old championship course and departed the scene on the Levenhall tram – which I also remember travelling on many times from Waterloo Place to the Musselburgh Town Hall!
