Despite Donald Trump's latest attack on UK, we still have 'cards' to play
The UK has better diplomatic cards to play than other countries which have managed to offend Donald Trump

At times, it can seem that Donald Trump really doesn’t like us. Countries like the UK which “refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran” would just need to go to the Strait of Hormuz and “get your own oil”, he opined on social media. And they would also need to “start learning how to fight for yourself” as “the USA won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us”.
Oh dear. Is this the end of Nato and the Special Relationship? Fear not, the UK still has ‘cards to play’, as Trump is fond of saying – and not just the two of diamonds.
A short time after his latest broadside, Trump couldn’t have metaphorically purred any louder as he announced our King and Queen would visit the US between April 27 and 30. “I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!”
We wish Charles and Camilla all the best, as the UK stays well out of the US’s Operation Epic Fury and its own Operation Epic Flattery continues...
