A NEW webcam on an uninhabited Scottish island is offering nature lovers around the globe a rare live view of grey seal pups being born.

A camera has been set up on the remote isle of Copinsay, in Orkney, where around 2,000 grey seals come ashore to breed every year.

Unlike common seals, grey seals give birth in autumn rather than summer.

Some of the fluffy white pups have already been born but viewers will have the chance to witness further new arrivals in coming days.

The webcams can be viewed live at orkneynaturefestival.org or sandayranger.co.uk
