With the eyes of the world on Scotland as it hosts COP26, it’s an important opportunity to highlight some of the inspiring action already being taken.
Scotland is committed to reaching Net Zero – balancing the amount of greenhouse gases we emit into the atmosphere with those we take out – by 2045.
And these Scottish businesses are well on their way to being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.

9. Tiree Music Festival
One weekend a year the small and beautiful island of Tiree is host to 2,000 festivalgoers. To lower the festival’s impact on the island, the organisers have been investing in infrastructure that can stay on the island year-round to benefit residents. They have converted shipping containers into a bar and merchandise store, removing the need to ship them back to the mainland. Their next step is to introduce recyclable cups that can be cleaned.
