Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2025: Five 'must-see' moments at New Year's Eve Street Party
Here are five must-see moments you won’t want to miss.
Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations are one of a kind - renowned as one of the greatest outdoor New Year's Eve events in the world.
This year boasts a star-studded line-up with Wet Leg at the helm for the Concert in the Gardens.
The annual outdoor street party, a staple of the spectacle, is set to return with a bang this year after last year’s event was cancelled due to extreme weather.

The party will see performers across the city centre, including a Scottish Stage with ceilidh bands and trad artists, and a Party Zone with DJs.
If you’re heading along to this year’s celebrations, here are five must-see moments you won’t want to miss.
1. Valtos at the Tartan Zone
The Tartan Zone on Castle Street puts a spotlight on Scottish talent. The award-winning Scottish-Electronic duo Valtos, made up of the Skye-born Martyn MacDonald and Daniel Docherty, have snapped up the headline slot before and after midnight. They’re being supported by the Poozies and Bella McNab’s Dance Band. From here, you’ll get a fantastic view of the castle and the fireworks.

2. manydjs at the Party Zone
The Belgian electronic duo behind Soulwax, 2manydjs are set to headline the Party Zone located at Waverley Bridge, with a DJ set you won’t want to miss if you want to dance your way into the new year. The pair are being supported by “groove specialist” Hayley Zalassi.

3. Mega Silent Disco
If you’re hoping to dance the night away, you’ll enjoy the Mega Silent Disco packed with sing-along anthems and pop-bangers picked by you streamed right to your headphones.
4. Fireworks Display

This is the moment everyone is waiting for - the grand finale when the clock strikes midnight. Edinburgh’s Hogmanay world-famous fireworks display is one of the best in the world. And at the street party you’ll have the very best views in town.
5. Auld Lang Syne
It wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve in Scotland without belting out a rendition of Auld Lang Syne. Singing the iconic lyrics from the top of your lungs with your nearest and dearest is the only way to welcome in the new year properly, and the street party is no different. Practicing the song before you arrive is a must.
