The family of a 54-year-old woman in Dundee who died earlier this month have spoken of their “unimaginable loss” after police confirmed her death is being treated as a murder.

Police were called to a property on Milnbank Road on December 6 following a report of a possible disturbance.

The 54-year-old woman, who has been named by police as Lili Stojanova, was found unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that following a post mortem examination, the death is being treated as murder.

Ms Stojanova has released the following statement:

"We are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Lili, a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter and a woman of remarkable talent. A true artist in every sense. She expressed herself through her art which was a reflection of her gentle heart and unique soul. Losing her is a tragedy, and it is something our family is struggling to comprehend.

“As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we kindly ask for privacy and space to mourn and remember her in peace. We ask the public and media to respect our boundaries and allow us to honour her memory with the dignity and love she deserves."

A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on December 8.
