Ardbeg has shared a preview of its distillery’s circus-themed celebrations at this week’s Fèis Ìle Festival of Whisky and Music, unveiling a set of images captured by award-winning photographer Tim Booth.
The images showcase acts performing in some of the distillery’s most iconic locations.
At Ardbeg Day (Saturday 1 June 2024), festivities will take a show-stopping turn inspired by the Islay Distillery’s latest limited-edition whisky – Ardbeg Spectacular.
In homage to the single malt’s dark cavalcade of flavours, Ardbeg is inviting fans to join its very own “Dark Circus”.
For one day only, at the distillery and at local events across the globe, whisky fans can delve into an offbeat and smoky Ardbeggian take on the circus, through intriguing tastings, games and an extravaganza of peaty delights.
Just days before the celebrations begin, Ardbeg has commissioned Booth – who is renowned for his studies of carnival performers - to create a series of photographs featuring a fire artist and stilt-walking juggler against the backdrop of the distillery courtyard, warehouse and on its famous pier.
Jackie Thomson, Distillery Visitor Centre Manager said: “This Ardbeg Day we will celebrate our whisky in the most spectacular style – from this new limited edition, to our core range favourites like Ardbeg Ten Years Old. "I’m looking forward to entering into the spirit of the circus with fans at the Distillery, online and across the globe on 1 June, as we come together to juggle big, bold smoky flavours and marvel at the phenolic phenomenon that is Ardbeg.”
For more news on Ardbeg Day 2024 and all things Ardbeg, smoky malt whisky fans can join the Ardbeg Committee on the Ardbeg website.
Ardbeg Spectacular will be available from the Ardbeg distillery during Feis and to Ardbeg Committee members and the Ardbeg website. If you like the sound of this, you can also buy a bottle via Hard To Find Whisky. Click here to secure yours.
