Watch: Gordon Ramsay says 'we need more restaurants' like Glasgow favourite Ox and Finch

Gordon Ramsay is attending the Michelin Guide Ceremony for the UK and Ireland 2026 in Dublin.

Scottish celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has praised a Scottish restaurant while attending one of the most prestigious foodie award ceremonies in the world.

The Michelin Guide Ceremony for the UK and Ireland 2026 took place in Dublin on Monday.

The Michelin Guide is one of the most prestigious restaurant guides in the world and awards up to three Michelin stars - regarded as the highest standard in fine dining - to restaurants demonstrating exceptional quality, consistency and culinary creativity.

Before the ceremony, chef Ramsay revealed his love for Glasgow restaurant Ox and Finch.

The Hell’s Kitchen star dropped in for dinner at the Finnieston eatery in July 2022 to sample some dishes in what he described as a “great dinner”.

The Sauchiehall Street restaurant later posted a photo on Instagram of their smiling staff with Ramsay, writing: “Thrilled to welcome you to Ox and Finch tonight, Gordon.”

Speaking to journalists ahead of the ceremony and reminiscing over his time at the Scottish restaurant, Ramsay said: “Ox and Finch - we had a great time there.

“And also we need more restaurants like that. Local, neighbourhood restaurants.

“I had such a great dinner there. Just proper cooking with no fuss, no gimmicks, just proper cooking at its absolute best.”

The chef added there are “phenomenal restaurants” across the UK. He said that it’s “important to not lose perspective” on what it means to run a successful and viable restaurant.
