Wetherspoons to add a new vegan burger from plant-based specialists Beyond Meat to its pub menus
The firm said they will be replacing the Meatless Farm's meatless patty in favour of the Beyond Burger in each of its 874 UK locations.
Alongside the popular vegan patty, the burger will also feature chopped lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and a sourdough bun - with the option to upgrade to a 'gourmet' version with red onion, salsa, avocado, and rocket.
Head of food at Wetherspoon's Jameson Robinson said: "We are always on the lookout for new and innovative products, to bring further choice and quality to our customers.
"Our Beyond burger offers a great new option for vegans and vegetarians, as well as anyone wishing to reduce their meat intake, which is an ever-growing number."
Beyond Meat's regional marketing director Bram Meijer added: "We're on a mission to help more people eat more of the foods they love while enjoying the benefits of plant-based protein.
"We're excited to secure our biggest listing to date and to introduce Wetherspoon customers to the delicious taste and texture of the Beyond Burger."
