Michelin-recommended Elements restaurant launches summer gin cocktail dining experience

Elements, the Michelin-recommended restaurant in Bearsden, has partnered with North Uist Distillery – makers of the award-winning Downpour gin and rum - to launch a new summer edition of its popular 4/4/4 dining experience.

Launching on Friday 3rd July, the limited-edition experience brings together four dishes from Gary Townsend's seasonal menu with four bespoke cocktails showcasing a range of Downpour spirits inspired by Scotland's islands, coastline and natural landscape.

Priced at £79 per person, the 4/4/4 experience includes two snacks, a small plate, a large plate and four cocktails, offering guests a relaxed and accessible way to explore Gary Townsend's seasonal cooking alongside Elements' award-winning drinks programme.

The menu will evolve throughout the summer, reflecting the finest seasonal produce from across Scotland, while the cocktail selection celebrates the distinctive character of the Downpour range.

The experience begins with The Machair Martini, a savoury coastal aperitif featuring Downpour Coast & Croft Gin, dry vermouth and a seaweed-infused pickled onion brine.

Alongside the opening snacks, guests will enjoy West Coast Sunset, a vibrant sparkling cocktail inspired by Scotland's dramatic summer evenings, combining Downpour Sloe & Bramble Gin, apricot liqueur and sparkling wine.

The small plate is accompanied by Hyper Hebridean, a tropical highball showcasing Downpour Hebridean Spiced Rum alongside pineapple, mango, toasted coconut and lime.

The final cocktail, Baleshare Sour, takes inspiration from the white sands and rolling surf of North Uist's famous beach, combining Downpour’s original Scottish Dry Gin with white balsamic, genmaicha-infused vermouth, umeshu and lemon.

A fifth seasonal cocktail will also be available for guests wishing to continue the experience.

Chef-owner Gary Townsend said: "The 4/4/4 has always been about bringing together great food, great drinks and great hospitality in a relaxed and approachable way. It gives guests the opportunity to experience a number of dishes from our seasonal menu while exploring some really creative cocktails.

"Downpour is producing some of the most exciting spirits in Scotland and this collaboration has given us the opportunity to showcase them in a really creative way. We think guests are going to love the cocktails and we're looking forward to sharing the experience throughout the summer."

North uist Distillery founder Jonny Ingledew said: “Elements’ ethos of sourcing local ingredients and using them in seasonal menus really chimes with our own commitment to using wild Hebridean botanicals across the Downpour range. Gary and the team’s mastery of balancing flavours really shines through in these cocktails and we can’t wait for others to enjoy them alongside some incredible food”.

As part of the collaboration, Elements will also host a special Downpour Pop-Up Event on Friday 24th July from 2pm until 5pm.

The ticketed event will feature guided tastings across the Downpour range, a cocktail from the 4/4/4 collection and a selection of canapés from the Elements kitchen. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase bottles and miniatures from the range, including Downpour's new Hebridean Spiced Rum, which is not yet available elsewhere in Scotland's on-trade sector.

Representatives from North Uist Distillery will be on hand throughout the afternoon to guide guests through the Downpour range and discuss the inspiration behind the distillery's award-winning spirits.
