Vintage Buckfast advert targets very unusual audience

Now a cult favourite with a much younger audience, Buckfast was originally aimed at a very different demographic if this vintage advert is anything to go by.

The magazine ad, originally published in the 1970s, has been doing the rounds on Social Media over the past few days and features a harassed housewife taking some time out to enjoy a glass of Buckfast under the slogan "for your moments of peace and quiet".

And it's not the first time an advert from the past for the notorious drink has popped up on social media either. This one, highlighting the health benefits of drinking Buckfast was posted on Twitter last year.
