As part of our monthly Meet the Distiller interviews, I’ve been asking master distillers and business owners a series of questions about their career, role and whiskies they make.
One of these questions is, if your whisky was a film star, who would they be? We’d had a range of responses, which I’ve listed here for some festive fun.

1. Bruichladdich as Tilda Swinton
Adam Hannett, master blender at Bruichladdich said: “Maybe Tilda Swinton - elegant, intriguing, sometimes a bit eccentric, but never boring. Scottish roots, global presence, strong sense of identity.” | Getty

2. Ardnahoe whisky as Sean Connery
David Livingstone from Ardnahoe on Islay said: “Sean Connery. Unmistakable, bold and charismatic.” | Getty

3. Aberlour whisky as Daniel Day Lewis
Graeme Cruickshank from Aberlour distillery said: “I’d pick Daniel Day-Lewis. I think he puts such an emphasis on the acting craft that he immerses himself in character portrayals intensely and rumoured to stay in character throughout the entire filming process.” | Getty

4. Fettercairn whisky as The Greatest Showman
Stewart Walker of Fettercairn said: “I’m a sucker for an underdog story. I love The Greatest Showman because it tells a great story of accepting people for who they are. So I’d probably pick a brilliant character actor who quietly steals the show rather than the movie star!” | Getty
