A skate back in time through the much-loved Murrayfield Ice Rink

There have been bumps, bruises and plenty of good times at Murrayfield Ice Rink over more than six decades of bringing city people onto the ice.

As the rink announces it is closing for the forseeable future, we look back at the tonnes of ice cold fun had at the much-loved venue.

1. Hard times

2. Ice cold boom

3. The "most modern rink in Scotland"
