Collaborative Rodeo Fun Day at Dunblane Care Service
A Dunblane care service recently brought the Wild West to Scotland as the service hosted its annual summer fun day.
Ranaich’s Rodeo, hosted at Ranaich House, was a cheerful event created by staff and service users who spent weeks planning the rodeo theme and cowboy costumes to ensure everything went to plan.
Located on Leewood Road, Dunblane, Ranaich House is a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, including mental or physical health needs, part of Cygnet’s Social Care division.
Individuals supported at the Cygnet Social Care service donned their cowboy-themed costumes in the garden, which was decorated as a Western saloon.

A raffle and tombola added to the fun spirit with prizes donated from friends and families as well as local venues and small businesses. Everyone then put on their dancing shoes before taking a rest with some food and a visit from the ice cream van.
Molly Totten, Activity Coordinator at Ranaich House, praised the great team effort from everyone at the Cygnet Social Care service.
She said: “It was certainly a fun day and the individuals we support at Ranaich House played a huge part in planning every detail of the day. We are really thankful to everyone that donated prizes to help our fun day come alive.
“It was amazing to see the enjoyment and pride on our residents’ faces when they saw the result of their amazing efforts. A majority of the day was the product of their ideas and suggestions and it was them that made the day the success that it was.

“Days like this really show the impact of building great relationships between teams and individuals supported at Cygnet Group. This co-production is so important as it brings our residents together, improves their team work and boosts their confidence in their own abilities. It’s a really positive culture we are very proud of.”
Service Manager Jorden Gallagher said: “Molly worked really closely with all of the individuals we support and assisted them in planning the day exactly how they wanted it. Ranaich’s Rodeo was the true definition of person-centred care and co-production at its finest.”
