World-class law service will extend to Poland

Pinsent Masons continues to extend its global reach, writes Barry McCaig

The announcement that Pinsent Masons plan to open a new office in Poland in mid-2026 continues our programme to expand our professional and legal services platform across Europe.

Establishing a presence in Warsaw will enhance the firm’s pan-European offering and provide a strategic base for supporting cross-border work across the region - and as our ninth office in continental Europe, it will complement operations in France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Spain and The Netherlands.

The launch adds a senior, market-recognised team spanning real estate, corporate and M&A, banking and finance, and construction, reflecting the firm’s strategy of entering growth markets with full-service, sector-aligned capabilities.

Further scaling up in Europe to meet the evolving needs of clients remains a strategic objective for us. Poland, as one of Europe’s most resilient and dynamic economies, adds a valuable component.

It is a key market for a number of our clients, particularly those in Western Europe, and remains an important investment destination in Central and Eastern Europe.

We’re launching with a stellar founding team whose reputation precedes them in the Polish market. They possess an extraordinary breadth of expertise, complemented by a long-standing collegiate relationship. Most importantly, they embody the mindset that drives our people to deliver differently; they’re forward-thinking, collaborative and recognise the value of connectivity in a global business.

This latest strengthening of our geographic reach follows earlier office openings in Saudi Arabia and China, while we continue to invest in UK infrastructure, notably the impending move to new Grade-A 31,000 sq ft premises at Glasgow’s 120 Bothwell Street development.

Our 2025 expansion in Riyadh underscores Pinsent Masons‘ commitment to growth in the Middle East, allowing for greater operational independence under the Kingdom’s new regulatory framework. Aligned with opportunities emerging from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and a well-established presence in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Pinsent Masons will continue to play a key role in major projects across the region.

Last year we also received government approval to open our third office in mainland China, located within the commerce hub of Shenzhen’s Qianhai Free Trade Zone.

Shenzhen is a highly innovative, entrepreneurial city of 18 million in the south of China, often described as “China’s Silicon Valley”. The Qianhai Free Trade Zone is positioned to be China’s gateway for the belt and road initiative and a global innovation hub for finance, logistics, technology and legal services.

The new office added to our 41-year presence in China, with offices in Hong Kong (opened in 1983), Shanghai (2002) and Beijing (2006), and is part of a focused growth plan for the firm in Asia Pacific, which follows a number of recent hires in Australia and Singapore.

Our China practice will continue to focus on China-outbound investment and M&A into the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. We will also continue to support international corporations in their China inbound activities such as foreign direct investments and joint ventures in China.

In just four decades, China has transformed into one of the world’s leading players in energy, infrastructure, technology and innovation globally, and these are areas of real focus for Pinsent Masons, especially in Asia Pacific.

Pinsent Masons has more than 490 partners and 3.500 people in 29 offices worldwide, advising clients on the legal and regulatory issues shaping global business, from energy transition and infrastructure investment to international finance and emerging technologies.
