Robertson awarded deal to look after hundreds of ScotRail stations and buildings

“We understand the level of care required to keep such a large and varied estate safe, compliant and well managed” – William Heaney, Robertson Facilities Management

Robertson Facilities Management has claimed a first for the company after landing a two-year contract to deliver grounds maintenance and winter gritting services for ScotRail.

The firm, which secured the contract following a competitive tender process, will deliver planned and “reactive” services at more than 360 locations across Scotland including railway stations, depots, signalling centres, office buildings, operational yards and passenger-facing areas that require regular upkeep.

The contract covers the likes of winter gritting, vegetation control, litter collection and wider grounds maintenance work.

William Heaney, managing director Scotland at Robertson Facilities Management, said: “Scotland’s rail network plays a vital role in daily life and we understand the level of care required to keep such a large and varied estate safe, compliant and well managed.

“Our teams bring extensive experience in maintaining complex operational environments and will apply that knowledge to support consistent, high quality and value driven services across the network.

“We look forward to building a collaborative partnership with ScotRail that helps create welcoming and dependable spaces for staff and passengers throughout the year,” he added.

The award marks the first time Robertson Facilities Management has worked with ScotRail, the national rail operator north of the Border.

Bosses said the contract would strengthen the company’s expertise in national grounds maintenance delivery across the public sector while supporting “continued sustainable growth in target markets”.
