Record year for Edinburgh tech pioneer powering Commonwealth Games and TRNSMT
“The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was a genuinely complex deployment” – Chris Hampson
Citizen Group, the Edinburgh-headquartered tech company, has capped off its most successful year to date after working on some of the UK’s largest cultural and sporting events.
Bosses said the capital firm had doubled revenue generated by its proprietary accreditation software while delivering workforce management, accreditation and digital safety operations for events such as Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival. The group also processed thousands of workforce accreditations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Eventree, Citizen Group’s accreditation platform, has achieved expansion across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia, adding clients including Soho House and Live Nation entities alongside Glastonbury and Burning Man.

Harry Boisseau, chief executive of Citizen Group, said: “The UK live music sector supports over 200,000 jobs, many on a casual basis. Managing events which require a large, temporary, constantly rotating workforce is where our software excels.
“Supporting high-stakes live events, from an international multi-venue sporting competition like the Commonwealth Games to massive music festivals drawing tens of thousands of fans, requires sharp precision and reliability. Demonstrating that an Edinburgh tech company can seamlessly power operations for major events and global brands like Glastonbury and Burning Man is a proud moment for our team,” he added.
Across the 2026 Commonwealth Games, Eventree acted as the central operational engine for workforce onboarding, site safety and venue access, processing more than 1,300 accredited workers, crew members, contractors and Games staff across all non-competition venues.
Chris Hampson, Eventree lead at Citizen Group, said: “The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was a genuinely complex deployment. Thirteen venues running simultaneously, each with their own documentation, access control and inductions, and a workforce drawn from across the industry.
“We're proud of how the platform performed and pleased to have been part of delivering such an important event.”
