That is why Scotsman Insider is launching the 2026 Made in Scotland partnership with the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), following a successful first year.

The awards will celebrate the companies and individuals driving innovation, exports and investment across Scottish manufacturing at a time when many business leaders believe the strategic importance of advanced manufacturing is still not fully acknowledged.

Scotland’s manufacturing sector employs more than 200,000 people across industries including food and drink, engineering, energy, technology and life sciences.

Despite ongoing challenges around costs, skills and investment, many Scottish manufacturers continue to expand internationally, develop new technologies and invest in advanced production capabilities.

The Made in Scotland Awards 2026 will take place at the Voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on October 8 , with entries now open via the Insider Media website.
