Business advisory firm selects Scottish city for third office north of Border
“Opening an office in the capital is an exciting milestone and reinforces our long-term commitment to Scotland” – Duncan MacCaig
Accountancy and business advisory firm Armstrong Watson has opened a new office in Edinburgh as part of its continued investment in Scotland.
The capital base, at Lochrin Square, builds on the firm’s continued growth north of the Border and follows the acquisitions of Martin Aitken and Parkhill Mackie in Glasgow. The combined Glasgow team, led by partner and former managing director of Martin Aitken, Ewen Dyer, now operates as a single integrated practice.
Armstrong Watson said it already supported a “significant” number of clients across the east of Scotland and in and around Edinburgh.

Chief executive Paul Dickson said: “The opening of our Edinburgh office is a natural next step for Armstrong Watson. We already have strong relationships with many clients across the east of Scotland, and this investment allows us to be closer to them, better understand their needs, and continue to deliver the high-quality, personal service we are known for.
“Following our acquisition of Martin Aitken, we now have a stronger and broader team in Scotland than ever before. Edinburgh gives us an excellent base to continue building a values-led accounting and financial advisory business, focused on long-term relationships, trusted advice and an exceptional client experience.”
Armstrong Watson is a firm of accountants, business strategists and financial advisers. It has a network of 20 offices throughout the north of England and Scotland, and more than 800 staff. The Edinburgh office is the firm’s third location in Scotland, alongside Glasgow and Dumfries.
Duncan MacCaig, lead partner in Edinburgh, said: “Opening an office in the capital is an exciting milestone and reinforces our long-term commitment to Scotland. The city has a vibrant business community and a diverse economy, and having a local presence strengthens our ability to support clients across the Central Belt with proactive, joined-up advice as their businesses and personal circumstances evolve.”
