WE’RE taking a trip back to Glasgow city centre in 1961 for today’s festive Scottish Flashback.

Those were the days when traffic was allowed on Buchanan Street - the road wasn’t pedestrianised until the late 1970s.

Buchanan Street is a busy pedestrian zone in 2014, featuring shops such as Forever 21 and GAP.

Now home to buskers, shoppers and the statue of Donald Dewar, the Buchanan Street of 1961 looked vastly different to today’s.
