GTA 6 pre-orders are rumoured to begin today — here's what we know so far

Here’s what we know about pre-orders for GTA 6 launching, so far.
Grand Theft Auto VI may soon be available for fans to pre-order ahead of the game’s release in November.
Sales of the highly anticipated Rockstar Games title are rumoured to launch today - Monday, May 18 - following a leak from US-based retailer Best Buy.
Last week, the company reportedly reached out to certain online creators regarding a pre-order campaign for GTA 6 which would run from Monday, May 18 until Thursday, May 21. One of the email’s recipients shared the message with viewers, with Insider Gaming later verifying the email as legitimate.
This has also led fans to speculate about the possible arrival of a new trailer for GTA 6, with more than a year now having passed since new footage of the game was revealed by Rockstar.
Typically, pre-orders for a video game wouldn’t generate so much interest. However, this is GTA 6; one of the most anticipated games of all time. It has been more than a decade since the last entry to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, GTA 5, was released with the upcoming title already having been delayed twice.
The release window for GTA 6 was first set for Autumn 2025, but later pushed back to May 26, 2026. Then last November, the release date was once again shifted, this time to Thursday, November 19.
Why fans think GTA 6 pre-orders are imminent
It was announced alongside the quarterly earnings results of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive, something which will certainly be in the back of fans’ minds with another call coming up on Thursday, May 21.

It is one of several reasons behind the growing speculation online, with other additional details such as the PlayStation store and website now stating “Free Delivery” on the page for GTA 6.
Other key pieces of information fuelling rumours include pages for the game appearing on sites such Walmart and other similar retailers around the world.
In addition, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently sat down with interviewer David Senra to discuss both the game and his career, where he confirmed that November 19 was still the planned release date.
While speculation builds, Rockstar have confirmed nothing and no pre-orders have, at the time of writing, officially opened.
