Could there be a Scottish winner on the 20th series of the BBC’s business reality programme?

This week sees a fresh batch of candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.

First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.

Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.

Season 20 of the show will launch on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

And the first episode will see the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.

The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.

And there’s some Scottish interest this year, with Roxanne Hamedi who describes herself as a ‘pharmacist’ from Aberdeen taking part.

Here’s everything you need to know about her.

How old is Roxanne Hamedi?

Roxanne is 30-years-old.

Where do I know Roxanne Hamedi from?

Reality television fans may well recognise Roxanne Hamedi from Geordie Shore. She featured in the show’s spin-off, Geordie Shore: Hot Single Summer, in 2011 when she ended up dating fan-favourite Scott Tindale.

It’s reported that she has also (unsuccessfully) applied to be on ITV2’s Love Island and E4’s Married At First Sight UK.

She’ll now be continuing her reality television career on The Apprentice.

What does Roxanne Hamedi do?

While she describes herself as a pharmacist it appears that Roxanne quit that job to pursue television fame.

In recent years she has set up two beauty brand businesses which she runs - both based in her home city of Aberdeen.

The first is called Browtasia, which sells eyebrow-related products, and is the businee she is looking for an investment in.

The second is called North Aesthetica and offers services to those struggling with hair loss - something that Roxanne herself has experienced.

What is Roxanne’s business plan she is looking for investment in?

Roxanne explained: “Browtasia is a beauty brand I founded, building on my expertise as a pharmacist and aesthetics practitioner after experiencing my own struggles with brow loss and thinning hair. Blending scientific expertise with natural, results- driven formulations, the brand delivers clean beauty solutions that restore confidence from the root. My hero product, the nourishing brow palette features a unique blend of vegan pomade and powder infused with argan oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and vitamin E. Made in a UK-based lab and complete with its own applicator brush, it aims to fill sparse gaps while nourishing the brow root. The brand is positioning itself as an affordable luxury line destined for major UK retailers and international expansion. My mission is simple: confidence begins at the root.”

What does Roxanne think are her unique skills as a candidate?

Roxanne said: “As a Persian-Scottish pharmacist with over 10 years of experience in healthcare, who self-funded both her own aesthetics clinic and cosmetics line Browtasia, I combine in-depth knowledge of ingredients with innovative solutions for real beauty concerns. I bring a rare blend of scientific expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive, which sets me apart in the beauty industry. My journey from personal struggles with hair loss to creating successful businesses demonstrates resilience, integrity, and a commitment to helping others regain confidence. I bring elegance, sexiness, sassiness, and determination, and with a revolutionary brand ready to lead the next wave of innovation, I am a truly unique candidate for The Apprentice.”

Why does Roxanne think she deserves Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment?

Roxanne explained: “I’m offering Lord Sugar more than a business, I’m offering a brand with heart, momentum, and a clear path to scalable success. Browtasia was born from my own hair-loss journey, blending a decade of pharmacy expertise with clean, results-driven formulations that restores confidence from the root. The trust, engagement, and proven sales I’ve built show a real demand for honest, effective products created with intention. With a loyal customer base and a range rooted in integrity and innovation, I’m ready for growth, retail expansion, and global impact. Partnering with me means driving real transformation and shaping a lasting legacy in beauty and wellness.”

How does Roxanne say her friends would describe her?

Roxanne said: Those who know me best would describe me as extremely motivated, ambitious, and endlessly driven. I’m always achieving, building, and moving on to the next project, whether that’s starting or scaling a business, or advancing my career in healthcare. I have a taste for the finer things and a vibrant, extroverted energy, yet I’m deeply self-aware, valuing balance, focus, and wellbeing. My friends call me a fiery, sassy chilli-pepper pocket rocket, charismatic, caring, unafraid of risks, and never embarrassed to be my goofy, authentic self. Fun, determined, and a powerhouse, I bring energy and vision to everything I do. I bring elegance, sexiness, sassiness, and determination... I am a truly unique candidate for The Apprentice.”
