Dame Kristin Scott Thomas stars in John Lewis’ 20th Christmas advert, which features Sam Fender covering The Rolling Stones.
The BAFTA-winning actress plays Gloria, a loving grandmother who is struggling to connect with her grandchildren. After first tucking some money in a card for them, rolling dog toy Pickles comes to life - voiced by Paul Whitehouse - to guide her into instead creating a fun cave for them all to spend some time together on Christmas.
After a few Christmas adverts without a traditional cover, John Lewis this year recruited Fender to cover You Can’t Always Get What You Want to accompany the new story.

3. Your Song by Ellie Goulding — A Tribute To Givers (2010)

4. Real Love by Tom Odell — Monty The Penguin (2014)
Originally sung by John Lennon, Tom Odell’s cover of Real Love accompanies the 2014 John Lewis advert which features a young boy with a pet penguin, who is beginning to wonder about finding a mate. This cover peaked in the UK charts at number seven. | Getty Images
