Big Brother is back - with 12 contestants consenting to be locked away in a house filled with cameras for a few weeks.
The reality television show that defined the genre returned in 2023 for the first time in five years, moving to ITV - and the Big Brother house has now welcomed its latest residents for 2025.
First broadcast on Channel 4 in 2000 - when millions were glued to the antics of Nasty Nick, Craig Phillips and Anna Nolan - the prorgamme later moved to Channel 5 before being cancelled in 2018.
This year there’s some Scottish interest, with two housemates from north of the border (although one is originally from Italy).
Here are all 12 contenders who are hoping to win the £100,000 cash prize, and what they said before going into the Big Brother House.

5. Zelah from South London
The personal trainer said: "I'm in this weird in-between where I've recently left the corporate world into having a bit of a looser schedule while I get qualified and build my business, so it felt like a 'why not' situation. I'm someone who doesn't have much of a social battery that runs out, so I'm very intrigued to see how far that goes in the house. Also, being trans, I think that a lot of the media narrative at the moment is taken out of our hands, and it will be nice to re-centre that and retake control. Shows like Big Brother show the normality of people - you can't get more personal than watching someone 24/7." | ITV

6. Teja from Bristol
Cleaner Teja said: "Winning that amount would be amazing. You've got to be in it to win it. You can't really strategise on this show because the public sees everything. If you want to be disingenuous, people will see it. You can make it all the way to the end of the show being like that, but the public aren't going to vote for you to win. I'm just going in there and going to be myself." | ITV

7. Emily from Northampton
The politics events manager said: "I haven't really thought about a strategy, although I do think people look at me and think I'm very ditzy because I've got blonde hair and fake nails. So, I think that could definitely play to my advantage, because they better watch out! I'm actually a lot cleverer. I think I'm most likely to be nominated for talking too much or being too loud, because I just let the impulsive thoughts out when there's something I want to say. I can't stand silence. I have to fill the silence all the time. So, I'm sure that might give some Housemates a headache, but I think it's fun." | ITV

8. Marcus from Manchester
The mechanical engineer said: "I'm looking forward to just being thrown in the mixing bowl of a group of people who I don’t know and watching all their personalities unfold. I'm buzzing. I don't have a strategy. My mum and my dad have both said: 'it's a game, you need to play the game.' But how do you play a game in Big Brother? I'll just have to go in and see what happens." | ITV
