August is fast approaching which means it’s time to scour the Edinbugh Festival Fringe programme for the best shows to see.
The physical programme was launched last month, with 3,352 show across 265 venues, and some are already selling out - with others still being added to the bill.
It can be a fairly daunting prospect to narrow those down when organising your Fringe.
While seeing something new is very much part of the Fringe experience, sometimes it’s nice to go and see something that’s already been successful.
Luckily there are plenty of returning shows that have previously wowed sold out Edinburgh audiences, along with those that arrive in Scotland’s Capital on a wave of award winning success.
Here are 18 that caught our eye. You can book them all at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe website.

17. Darkfield
Darkfield have become real Fringe favourites in the past decade or so with their regular shows staged in the pitch-back of sealed shipping containers. Some are weird, some are fun, most are pretty scary. They have two returning shows this year - 'Eulogy' at Summerhall and 'Arcade' at Potterrow Plaza. Meanwhile there are also three "360-degree sound experiences" at Summerhall's atmospheric Old Lab. Catching at least one from July 30 to August 25 should be part of everybody's Fringe experience. | Contributed

18. Shakespeare for Breakfast
There are few better ways of starting a day in Edinburgh during August than with 'Shakespeare For Breakfast'. A funny performance based on a Shakespeare play, plenty of songs and puns, plus a coffee and croissant to keep you going until lunch. They've been entertaining (and feeding) Festival Fringe audiences since 1992. They're at at C Arts from July 30 until August 24. | Contributed
