17. Catwoman: Soulstealer
Catwoman: Soulstealer is the only book written by Sarah J. Maas which isn’t set within one of her fantasy worlds. Instead, this 2018 work is one of several DC Icons novels (and the only by Maas) which follow popular characters from various DC Comics. Maas brings her signature flair to the book which follows Batman rogue, antihero and love interest Catwoman — AKA Selina Kyle. It has an average of 4.05 stars from more than 27,500 reader ratings. “When the Bat's away, the Cat will play. It's time to see how many lives this cat really has… Two years after escaping Gotham City's slums, Selina Kyle returns as the mysterious and wealthy Holly Vanderhees. She quickly discovers that with Batman off on a vital mission, Batwing is left to hold back the tide of notorious criminals. Gotham City is ripe for the taking. Meanwhile, Luke Fox wants to prove he has what it takes to help people in his role as Batwing. He targets a new thief on the prowl who seems cleverer than most. She has teamed up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and together they are wreaking havoc. This Catwoman may be Batwing's undoing.” | Penguin

18. A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR, Book 4)
Required reading for any ACOTAR obsessives — and so that book number five in the series actually makes sense — short novella A Court of Frost and Starlight is the fourth entry in the series, which bridges the gaps between Feyre’s arc and Nesta’s tale. It is the worst rated Sarah J. Maas book according to fans, with just 3.70 stars out of five on average from across more than 2.3 million reviews. More of a companion piece than a mainline entry, here’s what to expect from this 2018 book: “Feyre, Rhys and their friends are working to rebuild the Night Court and the vastly changed world beyond after the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated – scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.” | Bloomsbury Publishing
